JFJ  Wildwood Fossil Woods and Furniture environmental policy

We are committed to sourcing and supplying products that are legal whilst providing a source of employment for the indigenous and local inhabitants of the region.
Teak Root Furniture and Sculptures
Our teak root furniture and sculptures are crafted from roots that originate from two distinct areas. Local indigenous people and farmers collect the roots from their own land providing employment and a livelihood to local communities.  The teak roots are also obtained from the teak estates and plantations that have been established on Java and are plantations as opposed to natural old growth forest.
In the past the teak roots have been discarded or destroyed but we have now discovered a valuable use for these roots.
Fossilised Timber Stone Furniture and Sculptures
Fossilised or petrified wood can be found in a number of countries around the world and our fossilised furniture and sculptures originate from Java.
These fossilised pieces of timber are discovered and collected by farmers who are preparing and working on the farm land and rice paddies.  The fossilised pieces of timber turn up when the fields and paddies are being ploughed.  Once again, these fossils were once discarded but are new crafted into furniture and sculptures, providing work and income for the local Javanese people.
